The Color of Summer

With sunshine and calm waters finally reaching us along the Salish Sea I found myself reaching for colors that mean summer to me:  Watery blues, beachy creams and tans, shimmering pinks and whites, driftwood greys, and the greens of seaweed and kelp.

Nautilus is the first of two one of a kind necklaces that were a result of that burst of inspiration.

Special thanks to Lisa Peters for creating the beautiful ceramic wave focal and Ellen Dooley for the pretty frothy ocean blue lampwork.

Ever notice that gardens by the sea seem to have more flowers, more color, and a certain lushness?  It must be the cool breezes and moist air.  That's why I call this one Gardens by the Sea.

The lovely porcelain connector is from Pottery123Findings.  CanyonEchoes makes my favorite silvered lampwork as seen in this piece.

What colors represent summer to you?

Both are gorgeous and you really get that "on the beach" feeling looking at them!

Really beautiful pieces. Summer is a cool bluish green to me when I'm thinking of the beach and as it gets hotter - it's orange and yellow.
